This is Infinite’s “Voice of My Heart,” an emotional ballad that showcases each member’s unique vocals. But did you notice something off about the song? Sungjong’s and Sungyeol’s part are missing.
I edited the song to cut out their lines. No, I’m not doing this to bash them or insult them. I’m simply trying to prove a point.
Without the voices of Sungjong and Sungyeol, the song doesn’t feel right. You can sense it, right? It feels incomplete and different. Sure, Sunggyu, Woohyun, or any of the other members could have easily sung their parts instead. Sure, they could have possibly sung it better. But we all know that it’s not the same.
So Sungjong and Sungyeol couldn’t possibly be “useless,” nor do they “bring down Infinite.”
Even when Myungsoo couldn’t sing in some of the “Be Mine” performances because he was filming in Japan, Sunggyu sang his lines in his place. But without Myungsoo’s voice, it wasn’t the same. So how could it be any different in Sungjong’s and Sungyeol’s case? So many people have called them “useless,” but they’re still doing their part to keep Infinite who they are now.
It doesn’t matter if Infinite was supposed to a five-member group. The only thing that matters is that Infinite is a 7-member group and nothing can change that.
Brilliant. Thank you so much - everyone needs to take a listen to this.
